The SAMCA Group enters the plastic industry with the acquisition of BRILÉN, S.A., the first roducer in history in Spain of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) for the manufacture of packages and bottles, and in its affiliate ULDESA POLIPLAST, injector of preforms with said material. These bases are currently grouped and reorganized under a single company named NOVAPET, leading a process of growth and industrial and technological transformation in the sector that has led the group to become one of the main producers of this plastic material in Europe. Today, NOVAPET is present in the markets of almost 30 countries on three continents and is a world leader in the technical applications of PET in the packaging market. Nowadays, the offer of NOVAPET comprises products that are clearly innovative and services interconnected at any point in the chain of production of the package, from the formulation of specific resins to the design, the pilot scale production or the functional analysis of the projected bottles. As a true driving force of said action, the PET Packaging Technical Centre is a privileged channel of dialogue with research and with a market that is growing larger and more complex.

Another plastic that SAMCA is decidedly committed to is Polyamide 6. Bringing together the long experience in polymerization accumulated by NUREL over more than 35 years and the innovative and technological potential of the Group, the division NUREL ENGINEERING POLYMERS was established. With production capacity of 25,000 tons annually of different Plastic Polyamide Polymers and sales in more than 25 countries, its activity ranges from the manufacture of polymer for different applications such as compounding, film packaging or BCF, to the state-of-the-art engineering plastics. This activity is also in a process of renewed strength and generation of added value, with its own pilot installations that simulate the complete process, from the concept itself of the chemistry of the polymer and its specific formulation to the final product injected or extruded in collaboration with our customers.
